Metal stamping parts processing principle and technology characteristics
2024-10-29

Stamping parts rely on presses and molds to apply external forces to plates, strips, pipes and profiles to produce plastic deformation or separation, so as to obtain the required style and size of the workpiece (stamping parts) forming processing skills. Stamping and forging are both plastic processing (or pressure processing), collectively known as forging. The blanks for stamping must be hot rolled and cold rolled steel plates and strips. Stamping is classified according to the process, which can be divided into two categories: separation process and forming process.

First, stamping principle and characteristics

1, the basic principle of cold stamping

Metal or non-metal deformation under the action of external forces, when the external force exceeds the yield limit of the material, the first plastic deformation. If the pressure is further increased, exceeding the ultimate strength of the material, the metal or non-metal will first break and separate. Cold stamping is the exercise of this property of metal, so that the material is separated or deformed at room temperature, so as to obtain the required style and precision requirements of the parts.

2, the advantages of cold stamping are

1) Under the punch, you can get complex style parts.

2) High precision, stable size and good exchangeability after processing.

3) In the environment of little material consumption, light weight, good strength, good rigidity, smooth and beautiful surface can be obtained.

4) The material exercise rate can reach 75%~85%.

5) Most of the materials used are sheet material or roll material, which is easier to use mechanization and automation equipment. High speed presses up to hundreds of pieces per minute.

6) Easy to operate, low labor intensity.

7) Under the premise of mass production, the old cost is low.

3, the disadvantage of cold stamping is that the mold requirements are higher, the mold production is more complex, and it is not suitable for small quantity production.

Second, the economy of stamping processing

1, low production of essential measures

1) Improve the rationalization of the process.

2) Plan the mold for processing each workpiece at the same time.

3) With the automation and high speed of the stamping process, the old capital is depressed.

4) Take the technique of improving the exercise rate of the material down.

5) Improve the degree of mold planning, reduce the process, improve the life of the mold.

Three, stamping process

1. According to the total deformation properties of the material, the stamping process is divided into two categories and five basic deformation modes.

1) Separation process: Under the action of external force, the stress of the deformation part exceeds the strength limit of the material and the plate is broken and separated.

2) Plastic deformation process: under the action of external force, the stress of the deformation part exceeds the yield limit of the material, but when the strength limit is not reached, only the plastic table is produced and the inevitable style and size are obtained.

Four, five kinds of deformation of the stamping process

1, cutting, blanking: not closed or not closed so that part of the material is separated from another part. Such methods include blanking, punching, trimming, cutting, cutting, and code words.

2, winding: the flat sheet material caused by winding pieces, so that the style of winding pieces for further change. There are bending, curling distortion, etc.

3, calender: the flat blank stamping into the desired style of the fasting part, or the size of the fasting part for further transformation.

4, molding: with a variety of properties of partial deformation flat transformation of the style of parts or billets. It belongs to the forming deformation of undulating forming, flanging, shrinking neck, convex belly, rolling, shaping.

5, three-dimensional suppression: the volume will be newly allocated and the material will be necessarily transferred to change the shape or height of the billet thickness.

In order to improve productivity during the stamping process, several basic deformation processes can be combined to form a new process, which is called a composite process.
